Getting Around Atlantic City

Atlantic City Jitneys run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A Jitney is a 13 passenger mini bus. Jitneys travel the entire length of the city, from the inlet to Jackson Ave., from the Marina to the Casinos, servicing practically all major Atlantic City attractions. Jitney stops are located on the corner of every route and originate one block from the Boardwalk on Pacific Avenue. For your convenience, every sign located by each Casino Stop, will have color-coded numbers. Decide your route, then just look for the corresponding color coded number on each Jitney. Cost is $2.00 per person.

*If for some reason the information about transportation has changed, please check airport websites you are flying into for updates:

What to do when you arrive to Atlantic City?

  • The day after your arrive into Atlantic City, please find your way onto a Jitney (a blue little bus – our public transportation here in Atlantic City). The Jitney will get you to the Borgata – just ask the driver. Once you arrive at the Borgata, the directions to the office are quite simple – go through the Glass Entrance Doors and make a left. The Employment Center is right in front of you. Please ask for me when you come through the door.
  • In the Employment Center, you will be given an Offer Letter to sign for our files (this is not a contract) and please make sure you bring “ALL” your ids with you (the ids being your DS2019, Passport, and I-94 card (you will receive this when you enter the US))
  • Once you have completed the paperwork, we will give you the paperwork and directions for the Drug Test (this is mandatory for all new hires with Borgata), information and directions about the Local 54 Union (where you must go to sign up – you will need to present us with a receipt on your first day) and the directions and information about where to do to get your Social Security Card (which you NEED to have to work in the US – don’t worry we will be able to start you before you get the card – as long as we have a receipt from Social Security.) We understand that you do not have a car here to get you around, we recommend you taking the Jitney to the Drug Test and the Union Office and then a taxi or the bus (local transit) to the Social Security Office (this office is located west of Atlantic City). At this time, you will also be assigned to a date for orientation, which could be your first day of work. Please know that some people, may start prior to orientation.
  • One last thing: please make sure to bring plenty of money with you, so you can take care of your transportation, rent and any other things you may need before you start working.
