Since 1965, CIEE has been involved in the conception, writing, editing and/or funding of various types of publications related to the field of international educational exchange.
From 1965 to 1994, CIEE published Occasional Papers in International Education.
In the late 1990's, CIEE began the Journal of Studies in International Education. In 2001, CIEE was a founding member of the Association of Studies in International Education which now jointly oversees the Journal of Studies in International Education published by Sage Publications.
CIEE recently completed research projects on second language acqusition as well as grading and motivation for study abroad students. Preliminary research on second language acquisition was presented by Barbara F. Freed, Carnegie Mellon University and Noman Segalowitz, Concordia University, at the CIEE Annual Conference in Budapest, Hungary, in November 2003. Reseach findings on student grading and motivation was presented by CIEE President and CEO, Dr. Stevan Trooboff, and CIEE Chief Academic Officer, Dr. William Cressey, at the CIEE Annual Conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico, November 2004.
