Research Projects

CIEE staff from the U.S. and abroad often present at conferences and seminars around the world. Some are involved in research projects related to topics in International Education, making important contributions to the field of study abroad. The results of CIEE research projects are sometimes published in journals and frequently reported on these pages.

Stevan Trooboff, President and CEO of CIEE, William Cressey, Chief Academic Officer of CIEE, and Sue Monty, Graduate Assistant, recently undertook a study on how grade reporting policies can motivate students while studying abroad. The authors found that grade reporting policies are not as strong a motivator as once thought. This report was published in Frontiers:  The Interdisciplanary Journal of Study Abroad (Volume X, pp. 201-218, Fall 2004) and is reproduced here by permission of the editors).
