CIEE Announces New Study Center in Stellenbosch, South Africa
The new CIEE Study Center at Stellenbosch University will open in fall 2006 and will offer fall, spring, academic year, and calendar year programs.
Situated in the winelands district of the Western Cape, and only 30 minutes from Cape Town, Stellenbosch is a college town where international students can quickly assimilate into the local student culture while still having access to the many opportunities that the Western Cape has to offer. One of the oldest institutions of higher education in South Africa, Stellenbosch University was founded in 1866 and is comprised of 150 academic departments in 10 faculties. With a student population of approximately 18,000 (12,000 undergraduate and 6,000 graduate students) and staff of more than 2,000, the University endeavors to contribute toward building the scientific, technological, and intellectual capacity of Africa while being an active role-player in the development of South African society.

CIEE Annual Conference
We hope you enjoyed the conference in Miami as much as we did. The sessions and pre-conference workshop were excellent, the plenary speakers were engaging, and the host city was friendly and warm. While we regret the circumstances of the move to Miami from New Orleans, our mission remained the same; to provide an educational conference where colleagues can meet and learn from each other while discussing experiential learning in education abroad. Please click here to read the full conference evaluation.
Plenary Speeches
We have received many requests for the speeches delivered by our plenary speakers, Donna Marie Oglesby and Dr. Humphrey Tonkin. Click here to read Ms. Oglesby’s speech, America’s Wake. Check back soon for Dr. Tonkin’s.
