2004 Annual Conference – Santa Fe, New Mexico
The theme for the CIEE 2004 Annual Conference is Closing
the Circle: Creating an Enduring International Experience.
Much is done to prepare students before they leave for their
study abroad experience, but what support is provided when
they return? Consider proposing a session related to our theme.
Learn more by reviewing the Call for Proposals that will arrive
shortly, or click here to
download it.
Fees Available at www.ciee.org/isp
Summer 2004 fees are now available on the CIEE website
within each individual program description or through the Quick

Fall 2004 and Academic Year 2004-2005 fees will be

New Excursions at CIEE Study Centers in China!
This fall, CIEE added three new excursions to enhance
the student's educational experience while in China. The field
trips in Nanjing and Beijing are included in the program fee.
The Shanghai field trip is subsidized by CIEE and additional
information regarding dates and fees is provided to students
upon arrival on-site.
- CIEE Nanjing: A 4-day excursion to
the famous Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) as part of their orientation.
- CIEE Beijing: A 3-day excursion to
Xian that allows students to experience the Chinese countryside
by train and offers them guided tours of the following historical
sites in Xian: the Terracotta Warriors at the Qin tombs, the
Shaanxi History Museum, a group walk on the city wall, and
the Great Mosque located in the Muslim quarter of the city.
- CIEE Shanghai: A one-week optional
trip to Yunnan Province organized by Yunnan University. This
subsidized travel option provides students with a personal
perspective on the ethnic minorities of the region and gives
them an opportunity to compare the metropolis of Shanghai in
the east with smaller traditional cities, such as Lijiang,
Dali, and Zhongdian, in the west.
