Annual Study Center Reviews
Each summer, CIEE Program Directors write an Annual Study Center Review for each program, commenting on the previous academic year. The review is based on input from CIEE Academic Consortium Board Members, the CIEE Resident Director, sending institutions, and student evaluations. The reviews for spring and summer 2004 programs are now available here.
Also available are spring and summer 2004 student evaluations.
CIEE Annual Conference, Santa Fe, New Mexico
The CIEE Annual Conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico, is fast approaching and we look forward to seeing many of you there November 10-13, 2004. Visit our website for a preview of this year’s conference schedule and a list of exhibitors at this year’s meeting.
If you have any last minute questions regarding the conference, please contact us by phone at 1-800-40-STUDY or by e-mail at conference2004@ciee.org. See you in Santa Fe!
Home School Nomination Form
As you may have noticed, the home school nomination form in the CIEE Study Center application has changed. We are hoping the chart will allow us to receive more information about the applicant than the free form text gave us in the past.
Some advisors have expressed concern with the "unable to rate" category. If you do not feel comfortable rating the student on a particular skill, please do check "unable to rate". This will not hurt a student's chances. As always, please feel free to ask another faculty or staff member to complete this section should you feel you don't know the student well enough to rate them.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns about the home school nomination form.
A Student's Experience
We hear, often through the grapevine, that our participants consider their study abroad experience to be one of the best of their lives. However, it’s not often that we see it in print. Matthew Grant, a student from Marist College, describes all the things you as an advisor and we as program providers hope our students will achieve on a study abroad program: cultural immersion, learning acquisition, and even volunteer opportunities.
Click here to read Matthew’s story, published on Junior Press.CZ, who gives a helping hand to young people who would like to write about their experiences using the tools of modern media.
