CIEE at the 2006 NAFSA Conference
Come visit CIEE at the NAFSA national conference later this month! You will find CIEE at booth #801, near the entrance to the exhibit hall. While you’re at our booth, remember to drop off your business card to enter a drawing for a complimentary registration to the CIEE Annual Conference "Making the Most: Seizing Every Opportunity to Learn Abroad," to be held this November in Seville, Spain. Winners will be announced Thursday, May 25th, 10:30-11:00am at the CIEE-sponsored coffee break in the exhibit hall.

Summer and Fall 2006 CIEE Scholarship Recipients Announced 
We are pleased to announce that over 40 students will receive CIEE scholarships for summer 2006 programs. These students will attend CIEE Study Centers in locations such as Monteverde, Costa Rica; Shanghai, China; St. Petersburg, Russia; and Seville, Spain. For a list of recipients, please click here.

CIEE scholarships were awarded to over 50 students for the Fall 2006 semester, who will study in Dakar, Senegal; Hyderabad, India; and Rennes, France among many other Study Centers. For a list of recipients, please click here.

CIEE Staff News
Dr. Lynne Guitar, Resident Director of the CIEE Study Center in Santiago, Dominican Republic, co-authored Chapter 3, Ocama-Daca Taíno (Hear me, I Am Taíno): Taíno Survival on Hispaniola, Focusing on the Dominican Republic, along with Pedro Ferbel-Azcarate and Jorge Estevez. The chapter appears in Indigenous Resurgence in the Contemporary Caribbean: Amerindian Survival and Revival, a book edited by Maximilian C. Forte and released by Peter Lang. The book is a collection of fourteen essays about “individuals and communities reasserting their identities as indigenous peoples, from Carib communities in the Lesser Antilles, the Garifuna of Central America, and the Taíno of the Greater Antilles, to members of the Caribbean diaspora.” To learn more, please click here.
