Please join us in welcoming new Resident Directors at the CIEE Study Centers in Bonaire, Russia, and Jordan.

Bonaire, Southern Caribbean
We are pleased to welcome Dr. Rita Peachey as the Resident Director of the CIEE Tropical Marine Ecology and Conservation program in Bonaire. Dr. Peachey received her B.S. in Biology and M.S. in Zoology from the University of South Florida and her PhD in Marine Sciences from the University of South Alabama. Dr. Peachey’s research focuses on the effects of ultraviolet radiation on the growth and survival of marine invertebrate larvae and is particularly interested in issues of global change and conservation biology. She has conducted marine research in Belize, Australia, Hawaii, Puget Sound, Tampa Bay, Mobile Bay and, at sea, in the Gulf of Mexico. Dr. Peachey is committed to experiential learning and has taught at the undergraduate level in Hawaii and Alabama. Rita shares our enthusiasm for this unique program and looks forward to sharing it with students.

St. Petersburg, Russia
Dr. Paul du Quenoy, Resident Director for the St. Petersburg Summer Russian Language Program, earned his PhD with distinction in Russian History from Georgetown University. His PhD research explored Performing Arts Culture and the Revolution of 1905 in St. Petersburg, and he currently teaches at The American University in Cairo, where he is Assistant Professor of History. He teaches courses in Modern Russia; Europe in the Age of Revolution and Reform, 1789-1914; The Twentieth Century in Film; Global Politics in the Twentieth Century; and Europe in the Age of Reason. His current research is on the topic of “Sphinxes on the Neva: Egypt in the Russian Imagination, 1825-1917”.  Dr. du Quenoy is fluent in Russian, French, German, and Italian. He has lived and studied in St. Petersburg and is a former participant of the CIEE Russian Language Program.

Amman, Jordan
Allison Hodgkins, Resident Director of the CIEE Study Center in Amman, Jordan, is a native of Maine with more than 10 years experience in the Middle East. Her research interests focus on peace and conflict in the region and Allison has lectured in departments of political science and international studies. She previously served as Academic Director for a peace and conflict study abroad program in Palestine and Jordan and is currently a PhD candidate (ABD) at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. Allison holds master’s degrees in Public Affairs (Lyndon Baines Johnson School), Middle Eastern Studies (University of Texas at Austin) and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science (Bates).
