Program Overview
Program Overview
More than two decades after the end of communism and the re-establishment of democratic governments and free market economies, both Hungary and the Czech Republic display results of radical transformation. Yet, these transformations are different, each with their own unforeseen challenges. Nearly 10 years after becoming full members of the European Union (EU), these two countries are facing the outcomes of their choices, coupled with the effects of the challenges currently facing the EU. During this seminar, we’ll take a comparative look at the 20th century’s dramatic changes in Europe and examine the experiences of two Central European countries making history.
