Program Overview
Program Overview
Eighty percent of Ghana’s workforce is employed in the informal sector, small- and medium-scale startup enterprises (SMEs). Young people in the country are venturing into socially entrepreneurial activities in record numbers in the areas of education, health, human rights, and sanitation, significantly impacting the informal sector and Ghana’s holistic development. However, little attention has been paid to the informal sector in fostering growth and creating jobs. During this seminar, we’ll explore and analyze why this important sector of Ghanaian society continues to be ignored, and how it impacts the country's development. We will also look at the basic concepts of globalization from the perspectives of culture, gender, politics, and leadership.
