Program Overview

Program Overview

Building Future Cities: Architectural Solutions to Urban IssuesA new urban design revolution is underway that seeks sustainable modes of city living. Eco-urban solutions forged by pioneers at the intersection of technology and urbanism offer radical solutions to our extreme global predicament of global warming, environmental degradation, and exploding populations. During this seminar, we’ll investigate the future of cities: the ways in which they may live and grow or decline and die. Specifically, we’ll explore how Czech and German urban designers and architects—thought leaders and doers—aim to (re)make efficient, healthy, self-sufficient, post-post-industrial cities and meet the challenges of today while modeling a new metropolis.
