Modern Debates Along an Ancient Way
During this IFDS seminar, participants will, through lectures, discussion sessions, site visits, tours, and the hands-on practical walk of the last 100km of this pilgrimage, explore the historical, economic, social and world heritage cultural context by which thousands of pilgrims from all over the world journey by foot across northern Spain. Participants will follow the medieval pilgrimage road towards the city of Santiago de Compostela where the remains of the apostle Saint James are buried. While walking on the trail, special attention will be given to architecture, sculpture, painting, gastronomy and music.
