

The two host institutions will be the Institute for the Study of Islam and Societies of the Muslim World (IISMM) and the research group Sociétés, Religions, Laïcités (GSRL).
The IISMM, linked to the prestigious Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, is an interdisciplinary center established in 1999 to support creative scholarship about Muslims and Islam. Several IISMM scholars focus on other religious minorities as well. The IISMM promotes research and diffusion of knowledge and is characterized by its interdisciplinary perspective.
The GSRL, linked to the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes, is an interdisciplinary research group of distinguished scholars of religion, secularism, and society. The GSRL has run international conferences such as A Politics of Faith? Religions and Politics in U.S. and France and Gender, Laicity, Religions, 1905-2005.
