CIEE High School Abroad programs and Gap Year Abroad programs provide U.S. high school students and recent high school graduates with an unforgettable international experience. Since 1947, CIEE has sent over 50,000 U.S. youth to locations around the globe. These programs allow U.S high school students and recent high school graduates to study abroad, to live with a native host family, work abroad, and/or volunteer, and to challenge themselves on a new level by becoming fully immersed in a language and a new culture.

Welcome back! You are now an alumnus of a CIEE Program. All of us here at CIEE hope that you found your study abroad experience a unique and rewarding one. You have experienced the world and it is our hope that you will share your experience with others by telling your story through our Photo/Story/Video Student contest or our Alumni Ambassador program at your high school.

We also want you to introduce you to the topic of reverse culture shock – no matter how well prepared you think you are to come home to familiar culture, family, and friends – there is always a time of adjustment that may surprise you upon your return home.
