CIEE participants will be placed in a public middle school (equivalent to a U.S. high school) in either Shanghai or Zhengzhou. Participants will be placed in classes with Chinese students for an immersion language learning environment. Some English content curriculum classes may be available, depending on the individual school offering. Students will be placed in the school that best matches their academic qualifications, prior language study background, and interests. High School Abroad participants are expected to fully participate in the academic program.
