All students take 2 weeks of intensive Spanish language classes before they start their high school experience. We find that taking intensive language classes at the start of the home-stay can provide spectacular results. Classes are conducted in Spanish. High School Abroad participants are expected to follow the Chilean secondary education curriculum in either a municipal, partial municipal, or private- if available- and to fully participate in the academic program.
Extracurricular activity availability varies with individual host family and host school placement.
