CIEE support
The CIEE Study Center in Seville is responsible for the supervision and support of CIEE Gap Year Abroad participants throughout the duration of their stay. The Gap Year Program coordinator will remain in regular contact throughout the semester/academic year, to make sure language progress, home life, and volunteer placements continue to go well. The CIEE Office selects, screens, and interviews all host families and will place students in a family that best matches the student profile.
CIEE orientation
Orientation will take place upon your arrival in Seville. The orientation program consists of information on important topics such as an introduction to your host city and country, getting to know your host family, volunteer opportunities, health and safety, tips on how to adjust to a new culture and language, the academic program, and getting to know other students going to the same country. Students will be met at the airport upon their arrival by CIEE Seville Office staff, who will also assist in the final transfer to their host family.
CIEE excursions
CIEE organizes weekly activities that can vary from cultural meetings to day trips to nearby towns. For all semester students, there will be an overnight excursion to a nearby location, and for yearlong students, there will be another excursion in the spring. More detail concerning trips will be discussed during orientation. Also the Program Coordinator will help students to participate in sport teams or any other hobby the student would like to pursue while in Spain.
