volunteer opportunities

Beginning the second week, Gap students teach English to Dominican students 8-10 hours per week.

Students also receive an intensive introduction to the do's and do not's of community service in order to prepare them for this segment of their weekly volunteer work. Gap students will work in one or two urban community service organizations of their choice for a total of eight to ten hours per week. The next-to-the-last week of the program, students participate in a week-long rural community service project; these rural projects are done in coordination with a Peace Corps volunteer or the director of a recognized NGO.
