CIEE High School Abroad programs, Summer High School Abroad programs, and Gap Year Abroad programs provide U.S. high school students and recent high school graduates with an unforgettable international experience. Since 1947, CIEE has sent over 50,000 U.S. youth to locations around the globe. These programs allow U.S high school students and recent high school graduates to study abroad, to live with a native host family, work abroad, and/or volunteer, and to challenge themselves on a new level by becoming fully immersed in a language and a new culture.

Bio: My passion for international education stems from my experiences studying abroad in Ireland, England, Wales, and France. Since that experience, I have traveled throughout over 25 different countries in pursuit of learning about different cultures. I have dedicated the last seven years to offering these eye-opening experiences to students. I believe the balance of community service, language studies and cultural immersion will be a forever life changing experience for any student. Bio: As a former high school Spanish and French Teacher I know how difficult it is to learn a language and culture in a classroom setting and how easy and natural it is to learn these same things living in another country. I have been an exchange student myself; my two sons have been exchange students; I have hosted exchange students seven different years; and I have been an exchange teacher in Spain, France and Costa Rica. I have seen every side of the exchange world, and I have been helping students go abroad with CIEE since 1976.

Bio: I grew up in a family that hosted many exchange students and international visitors. At a very young age I became passionate about my desire to study abroad, to learn a new language and immerse myself in a foreign culture. This was one of the most amazing and formative experiences of my life. As an adult I have continued to share my passion for cultural exchange with my own children by hosting students from all over the world as well as encouraging my children to step outside their comfort zones and experience different cultures. I have experienced cultural exchange on many different levels, and I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm, knowledge and experience to help both parents and students find the right CIEE High School Program for them.
