Responsibilities
Local Coordinators are responsible for recruiting and screening Host Families. They conduct host family interviews, reference checks, and aid in the selection of a student for the host family. Local Coordinators act as a liaison to local high schools and assist in the enrollment of the students.
Throughout the year, Local Coordinators are responsible for the supervision of students, including monthly contact with the students and bi-monthly home visits with the students and their host family, as well as continued contact with the local high school.
As a Local Coordinator you:
- Recruit host families in your spare time
- Match students with host families
- Provide guidance to students and host families throughout the experience
- Receive extra money for placing and checking on student
- Earn national and international travel
