BENEFITS OF BECOMING A LOCAL COORDINATOR

Bring the world to your community as a CIEE Local Coordinator!

CIEE Local Coordinators make a difference in their communities by offering families the opportunity to host international high school students from over 30 countries! By developing relationships with schools, host families and students, Local Coordinators help to ensure that the experience is a success for everyone.

I was new to my community when I became a Local Coordinator. But now, after so much networking, I have found some great families who are not only wonderful hosts but are also becoming close friends.

As a Local Coordinator, you:

  • Help recruit and select host families in your area
  • Assist in matching students with host families
  • Build and maintain relationships with local schools
  • Represent and promote CIEE's programs in your community
  • Provide guidance to students and host families throughout the experience
  • You can help recruit families and place students for programs lasting one semester up to a full academic year.

The benefits of being a Local Coordinator:

  • Experience the joys and rewards of being a cultural ambassador
  • Expand your relationships in your community. Strengthen ties with neighbors, friends, civic and religious groups
  • Get to know students from many countries and help welcome them to your hometown
  • Be an integral part of a life-changing experience that families and students will never forget

What we provide our Local Coordinators:

  • Comprehensive training to prepare you to recruit host families and place students.
  • 24-hour support from our full-time professional staff.
  • Opportunities to meet and develop relationships with over 500 Local Coordinators across the USA.
  • Cash and travel incentives/rewards
  • An opportunity to attend our national and international conferences.
  • Online "I-Cafe" for Local Coordinators, an internet resource center.
