The benefits of being a Local Coordinator
The Local Coordinator position gives you great flexibility as you decide the level of commitment by the number of students you choose to mentor and how much time to devote. Many of our coordinators have full time jobs, are stay at home moms and dads, or are retired. Our local coordinators receive a small compensation and unique travel opportunities within the U.S., as well as internationally, that allow you to meet and develop relationships with other Local Coordinators across the U.S.
The highlight for every CIEE Local Coordinator is our yearly International Conference. Local Coordinators that qualify through a certain amount of student placements will be invited to attend this conference. CIEE pays for transportation, lodging, fun tours and activities, as well as most of the meals. Each year we choose a different destination. In the past years we have traveled to Dublin, Rome, and Rio de Janeiro, and 2010 will find us in Arenal, Costa Rica!
