How To Be Part of It
At CIEE: Council on International Educational Exchange, we do work that brings people from different cultures together. We are passionate, mission-driven, and committed to delivering the absolute best in international exchange.
Want to join us?
Think a group of talented, passionate people can help change the world? So do we.
The work we do helps people learn more about themselves, grow, and bridge differences with others. We help people develop new ways to support themselves as they push their own boundaries, make new connections, and reform their perceptions.
At CIEE, our mission is central to what we do, but committed, inspired people make us who we are. We’re always looking for outstanding, highly motivated people who want to make a difference and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. If you're up to the challenge, we have opportunities – domestic and international – that could be right for you.
Working in Portland, Maine
We love what we do and where we do it.
Our corporate headquarters is located in Portland, Maine. We have staff based in 40 plus countries around the world and working in over 60 study centers.

Our programs change lives; our alumni change the world.
With upwards of 250,000 former participants, CIEE alumni are members of a vast and diverse community of students, teachers, and professionals. Our alumni services can provide you with information, resources, and contacts that allow you to reconnect with old friends and form new relationships with potential colleagues, mentors, and employers.
Visit our CIEE alumni page and discover opportunities—both domestic and international—to work, teach, intern, volunteer, or continue your studies.
You've studied abroad with CIEE; now come be a part of it!
The alumni internship program identifies a group of exceptional alumni—who have participated in a CIEE study program—to serve as paid interns at our Portland office or CIEE Study Center for nine weeks over the summer.
Summer interns are appointed to an engaging and challenging project that has a high impact on both the students’ professional skill set and ultimately CIEE’s family of programs. Learn more here.
At CIEE we’re proud to work with a vast network of partners and representatives who are as passionate as we are about making international experience a reality for their students. Whether you’re a U.S. college or university interested in more information on helping your students take part in a CIEE program, or an international organization interested in promoting our programs in your country, we want to work with you.
