Yi Hyun Kim - South Korea:
Kim-chi Bokkum-bap (It means fried rice with Kim-chi)
INGREDIENTS
1/4 loaf of Kim-chi
(Korean cabbage. You can find Kimchi in the refrigerated produce section, dairy section, or deli section of major grocery chains and Asian specialty food stores nationwide)
Steamed cooked rice
½ onion finely chopped
4 strips of bacon
2 boiled potatoes
2 tablespoons of butter
5 eggs
HOW TO MAKE IT
Slice Kim-chi, bacon, onion, and potato in small pieces (1-2cm).
Heat butter in a frying-pan and add the Kim-Chi and potatoes first.
When potatoes are almost done add onion and bacon together.
Fry rice with them. Once everything has a bit of color takes it out of the pan and set aside.
Prepare fried eggs.
Put each egg fries on the each Kim-chi bokkum-bap.

ABOUT KIM-CHI
Kim-Chi is one of the Korean traditional foods. Kim-chi is vegetables (mainly cabbage) fermented in low temperature. Kim-Chi is very good for our health, because there are lots of good nutrition like vitamins, carbohydrates and some other things. Especially, Kim-chi is helpful for your immune system. |
