June 14th – Rehoboth Beach International Student Outreach Program New Student Orientation, Rehoboth Beach Convention Center
This orientation brings together the public safety, business and student community of Rehoboth Beach. Information from bicycle safety, banking, medical emergency, real estate rental information and more will be distributed.
July 11th Cape Cod – Orleans Inn 7am – 11am, Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce 1pm – 4pm
This Meet and Greet session will allow employers who have hired or are interested in hiring J-1 seasonal staff, or to speak one on one with a CIEE staff member.
August 8th Myrtle Beach – Sheraton Convention Center 8am – 11am
CIEE staff will present information about the J-1 Visa/Work & Travel Program followed by a Q & A session.
August 1st – Cape May Chamber of Commerce Rapid Fire Networking Event
This event allows CIEE Staff members to present the J-1 Work and Travel program to a variety of different employers in the area. This event will help educate the community about the Work and Travel program and the ways students can help their businesses.
October 19th - 22nd Seward, Alaska. Seasonal Human Resources Conference
This conference held by the Seasonal Human Resources Association is designed for Human Resources professionals to gather and learn more about specific issues relating to the hiring of seasonal employees. CIEE staff will be on hand to speak about the advantages of hiring international students for your seasonal needs. CIEE staff will also be available throughout the weekend to answer any questions or to meet with employers.
November 14th – Quality of Life Task Force’s “Seasonal Workforce Conference for Employers”, Ocean City Convention Center
This all-day conference is an annual event for the Ocean City business community. The conference is hosted by OC’s Quality of Life Task Force and offers presentations, panel discussions and vendor booths from the Department of Homeland Security, Department of State and Visa Sponsors.
November 21st – Virginia Beach Outreach Program Employer Forum, TBD
This forum offers employers in Virginia Beach and the surrounding area information regarding the J-1 visa program, from hiring to execution. This forum is the first of its kind in this area and is geared to help the business owners and managers better understand the benefits for and responsibilities of the Employer, Student and Visa Sponsor.
