Your primary contact with all matters concerning CIEE exchange students at your school is your Local Coordinator.
Your Local Coordinator
CIEE Local Coordinators live close to the student's home and are in regular contact with both the student and the host family.
Therefore, they are most knowledgeable about the student’s overall situation and are best to provide you with fast help. Your CIEE Local Coordinator will make contact with your school prior to the student’s arrival to ensure you know how to contact him/her for any support issues or queries. However, certain situations might require the involvement of the CIEE Support Team. They are your next level of CIEE support.
The CIEE Support Team
The Support team is based at the CIEE home office in Portland, Maine. They assist with higher-level issues for all inbound CIEE programs, and are highly trained to resolve issues.
The support team can be reached by calling 1-800-448-9944. Office hours are between 9am-5pm EST. Staff are also available 24-hours per day, seven days per week for emergency support through our after-hours emergency call system, which can be reached by dialing the above number and following the prompts for emergency service.
Some examples of what the CIEE Support Team offers you are:
- One-on-one guidance/support
- 24-hour emergency phone coverage
- Assistance answering questions regarding your student’s immersion and success in the classroom
- Assistance regarding the change of a student’s host family
- Assistance with arranging tutoring funds for students
- Insurance and medical provider advice
