Attention High School Educators

Please utilize the Peacebuilding Toolkit for Educators as a classroom resource for international lesson plans and conflict resolution.

Globalize your Classroom

International education is more important today than ever before. Globalize your classrooms in today’s interconnected world – build international bridges, break down cultural barriers through immersion in the American educational system, inspire love of other cultures and languages in your students, and open minds!

The challenge is to find a way to educate future global citizens through more than textbooks and movies. We at CIEE believe that learning is about the relationships between people, and that international educational exchange is the best way to foster mutual understanding between people around the world. We can’t do it without schools like yours who commit to learning about cultural exchange. We thank you for your diligence in pursuing this mission with us. Together, we can make a difference in the world.

The USA High School Program is designated by the U. S. Department of State to sponsor students on a J-1 visa. We are also accredited by the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET).

A major part of each student’s stay in the US is their experience attending a local high school. This is an opportunity for students to expand their English language skills and understanding of American culture while sharing their native culture with the community at their school.

AT CIEE, we make it our goal to select high quality students for our program. We evaluate each student’s motivation for the program, academic history, and English ability, so that each student can have a productive and successful experience at your host school.

ciee mission

“I want to thank my school, Robert E. Lee High School at Tyler. I learned loads of new things during the year, had a great time at school, made lots of new friends, learned much about U.S. high schools, and I will use my experience here for developing programs back in Armenia. Thanks to all of my teachers for your support!
