Why the C1 Leadership Academy?

Whether you believe that it’s an inherent gift or an acquired skill one thing is for certain: leadership is a quality defined by action.

Leaders seek out challenges, inspire those around them, and push the boundaries of their own comfort zones. For those reasons, there are few environments more conducive to developing young leaders than a foreign culture.

Living in, engaging with, and contributing to a new community will allow you to learn and grow by doing. Not only will you build new leadership skills, but you will also have the opportunity to test, appraise, and refine those skills in the real world, all while helping to make a difference in the lives of others.

The goal of the C1 Leadership Academy is to help you begin developing an understanding of yourself and your place in both the local and global communities. Its aim is to make you an independent thinker, with the ability to manage complex situations, and more easily navigate interpersonal experiences throughout your life—preparing you for college and beyond.

Participants of the C1 Leadership Academy will become:
