Leadership
What qualities make a leader? Is leadership inherent or can it be taught? Do I have what it takes to be a leader?
You’ll find out on a Leadership Academy program.
Through weekly seminars and regular group work, you’ll reflect on what makes someone an effective leader, as well as your own personal values, perspectives, and strengths that inform your leadership ability.
Our custom-designed, engaging curriculum allows you to explore the concepts and skills that will help you learn how to build a “cultural bridge” and be an effective leader in any intercultural situation by:
- Developing a personal portfolio that tells the story of your life—an autobiography that explores your passions and strengths, your dreams and aspirations
- Journaling your experiences while on the program to analyze the meaning and purpose of your life
- Analyzing case studies of young leaders who have become change makers, solving critical social problems
- Applying the skills and concepts you learn in class to real-life scenarios you’re facing every day during your service project
The goal: to help you develop skills to think independently, effectively lead situations, and more easily navigate interpersonal experiences throughout your life—preparing you for college and beyond.
