Post-Program Tour

After completing the leadership training and community service components of the program, participants continue their exploration of a new culture with a week-long tour of their host country.
Whether it’s paddling in the Caribbean in a catamaran, or exploring World Heritage sites in an ancient European city, post-program tours broaden perspectives through engaging exchanges and amazing activities.
Tour highlights include:
- China: Touring the colonial-era French Concession and taking in an acrobatics show in Shanghai; visiting the Forbidden City and standing atop the Great Wall in Beijing
- Czech Republic: Exploring an 11th century castle in the city of Český Krumlov; hiking, biking, and rafting through the Sumava Mountains
- Dominican Republic: Jaracacoa, the “Dominican Alps”; Puerto Plata’ Las Terrenas; Santa Bárbara de Samaná; Los Haitises National Park
- Ghana: Exploring a former slave market and other sites along the Transatlantic Slave Route and crossing one of the world’s longest canopy walkways in the Kakum Rainforest
- Japan: Hiroshima and Kyoto, two World Heritage sites
- Jordan: Navigating the tunnels of a crusader castle; visiting the ancient city of Petra and its famous, breathtaking treasury; camping out under the stars in the hilly north, and floating in the Dead Sea
- Senegal: Desert camping; the city of Saint Louis; a retreat to Sobo Badè; a visit to Toubab Dialaw
- Spain: Traveling to Morocco for a camel ride along the beach, a visit to Roman ruins, and a hike through the Rif mountains; the cities of Fez, Chefcaouen, and Ceurta
