Hiring Process
Thank you for your interest in hosting an intern through the CIEE Global Leader Internship program. So that you understand how the process works and what will be required of you along the way, we have created the following outline of next steps:
- Finalize Job Description: CIEE representative works with you to create and finalize an optimal job description to recruit the ideal candidates.
- Candidate Selection and Review: Two to three weeks after finalizing of job description, we provide you with a list of three highly qualified candidates, all thoroughly screened to ensure that they meet the requirements of your organization and of the position(s) you are offering. You receive resumes and application forms for each of the candidates.
- Interview: Candidates are ready to conduct interviews immediately following submission of their applications. CIEE arranges and facilitates these virtual interviews for you.
- Position Confirmation: The employer is expected to make a decision on their final candidate within two weeks of completing the interview(s). Once you have made your decision, you create an offer letter which CIEE forwards to the candidate on your behalf.
- Completion of a Training Plan: Form DS-7002 is a U.S. Department of State form used to outline a training plan for the Intern. We assist you in the completion of this document. Once complete, it is signed and dated by all three parties-intern, host organization (employer) and sponsor (CIEE).
- Final Documentation: There are a few other forms that need to be completed and signed for interns to secure their J-1 Visa. CIEE ensures that the selected intern has all of the required documentation to apply for their visa at the Embassy/Consulate. CIEE also assists with their pre-departure preparation.
