Did you know your students could receive a full-scholarship to live and study in Germany for a year?

Funded by the U.S. Department of State and the German Bundestag, the prestigious Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Scholarship offers young Americans the opportunity to become fluent in German, learn another culture – first hand – and expand their horizons to the world! Participants of the scholarship are considered youth ambassadors of the United States and the program places a particular emphasis on learning about the German political system, foreign policy and diplomacy.

Former recipients of the Congress-Bundestag Scholarship program have gone on to much success, including university scholarships and awards, top scores on the AP German exam, and immeasurable self-discovery.

Requirements for the scholarship include the following:

  • Grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Applicant must be between 15 and 18 years of age at program start (July 2010)
  • U.S. Citizen, national or permanent resident
  • No prior knowledge of German is required
