Xuying spoke exceptional English. Perhaps the only issue was the fact that she occasionally used more complex vocabulary incorrectly; otherwise, she spoke at a native pace and expressed herself flawlessly. Every single one of her answers was extremely thoughtful and well-reasoned. She was able to walk through her thinking in a very straightforward and logical fashion. She discussed the pros and cons of society in both school and society masterfully, citing specific examples in both. She's also very passionate about her extracurricular activities, including school event planning, raising disease awareness, and bio-chemistry studies, all of which she's displayed leadership in. Her writing sample was not only well-written but also tackled the question from multiple less obvious angles that made the argument very interesting and unique. Xuying wowed me with her exceptionally thoughtful answers. I have no doubt she'd be a great asset to any university.

Xuying was not only an effective communicator, she also displayed a complex and mature thought structure throughout the interview. She struggled with her English only when trying to put together more complex ideas and sentence structures. She spoke in great detail on all subjects which displayed genuine motivation in pursuing her interests. Xuying did a good job of directly answering questions without straying off topic. Her answers were organized and it was clear she had her own ideas about topics supported with anecdotes and facts. Her analysis of the pros and cons of technology use in education involved a high level of on-the spot consideration and thought organization. I believe Xuying could be successful at even the most competitive U.S. universities.
