Why CIEE?
A nonprofit, non-governmental organization, CIEE is the world leader in international education and exchange. For 65 years, CIEE has helped thousands of students, professionals, and educators gain the knowledge and skills necessary to live and work in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world by offering the most comprehensive, relevant, and valuable exchange programs available.
CIEE began offering International Faculty Development Seminars (IFDS) in 1990 to help U.S. colleges and universities internationalize curricula. Since then, CIEE has run more than 220 faculty seminars in more than 40 countries, helping 3,550 faculty and administrators from 800 U.S. and foreign institutions of higher education gain insight into alternate worldviews, hear diverse voices from an international community, and access innovative approaches to learning and problem solving—all of which increase international awareness and transform campuses.
