In Chile, guest lecturers come from the Universidad de Chile, the Universidad Diego Portales, and FLACSO. FLACSO is an international academic institution, founded in 1957 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), with the purpose of promoting research, training, and technical assistance in the social sciences in Latin America. FLACSO sponsors the largest, most important, and most prestigious teaching program in the social sciences in Latin America, particularly in the areas of culture, gender studies, political studies, social policy, international studies, and military affairs. The seminar is hosted by the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO) in Argentina.
