Accommodations
Accommodations are reserved based on single-room occupancy, unless participants are notified otherwise or the discounted double-occupancy option is selected on the application. Applicants must indicate their roommate on the application when applying in order to receive the discount. Accommodations are in well-located modest hotels, guesthouses, or university housing. Most have private bath facilities.
Meals
Two meals are provided daily, normally breakfast and lunch. One welcome and farewell reception is included, although the majority of dinners are at the participants’ own expense.
Optional Site Visits to CIEE Study Centers
CIEE operates study abroad programs for undergraduate students in many of the countries where we run faculty seminars. The Study Center in each country is typically housed at the host institution. We encourage seminar participants to get better acquainted with the CIEE Study Center and the host university and are pleased to make the necessary arrangements for a pre- or post-seminar site visit for anyone interested in this option. The site visits allow faculty and administrators to gain first-hand
knowledge of the university, on-site facilities, classrooms, and student housing, as well as offer a chance to meet with faculty and local staff. Interested participants should contact the CIEE home office for further information.
Tourist Activities
Apart from sightseeing included during the seminar, there is very little free time for tourist activities. We suggest that those who want free time for tourism make arrangements independently for a pre-or post-seminar stay.
Individual Appointments
Participants interested in individual appointments with overseas counterparts must notify CIEE a minimum of one month prior to the start of a seminar. CIEE makes every effort to fulfill such requests, but meetings are dependent on local academic calendars and availability of local researchers and scholars.
