The York (Maine) Seasonal Worker Program began six years ago as a way to welcome Work & Travel USA students to town, and to introduce them to one another. "We're like a welcome wagon," co-chairman Nancy Gustad said. Without public transportation, many workers walked two to three miles from where they lived to jobs at the beach and in the village. CIEE donated $500 for the seasonal worker program to purchase helmets. This year CIEE again donated $500 to invest in bikes...
This spring, 23 male staff members, based both in our Portland office as well our international offices, grew mustaches over a six week period to raise money for Boys to Men, a local Portland non-profit organization that provides non-violence education and programming for boys in the state of Maine.
